Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts with Sweet Dipping Sauce

Ingredients

1 lb. apple wood smoked bacon strips cut in half
2 8 oz cans whole water chestnuts drained
toothpicks
1/2 cup ketchup
3 tablespoons brown sugar

Directions

Preheat oven to 400.

Wrap each water chestnut with one strip of bacon (remember that you need to slice each strip in half). Secure the water chestnut in place using a toothpick, going through the bacon, water chestnut, and bacon again.

Place on a parchment lined baking sheet.

Bake for 15 minutes, flip all bacon wrapped water chestnuts to brown on the other side. Bake an additional 15 minutes. Remove from oven.

In a small bowl, mix ketchup and brown sugar until brown sugar is dissolved.

Serve bacon wrapped water chestnuts with sweet dipping sauce.
